Alumni & Brotherhood Homepage
Dear Brothers,
As you all well know, our Chapter House, located in the heart of campus, is the centerpiece of our fraternity and Penn as a whole. It brings and binds together active brothers who have the privelige of living in it, other brothers and rushes who enjoy its perks, generation after generation of students attending our events, and Kappa Sigma alumni who will always have a second home at 3706 Locust Walk.
The importance of our Chapter House in the prosperity and continuation of our fraternity cannot be overstated.
That being said, decades of wear and tear have had an overwhelming effect on the state of our home. Furniture is on its last leg (literally), spaces have become empty and unused, maintenance equipment lost or stolen, unorganized storage rooms, composites broken, awards tucked away, and so much more.
Unfortunately, we hardly scrape by with our current budget, focusing on events, rushing, and other expenses, leaving us with no room to care for our home. Only through the generous support from our older brothers may we seek to restore and embellish our Chapter House to its full glory.
In 2024 and the near future, it is our utmost priority to see this goal through.
FALL 2024
Dear Alumni and Brothers of the Alpha Epsilon Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity,
We are excited to write to you all as we begin the 2024-2025 academic year at the University of
Pennsylvania!
First, we want to thank our alumni for visiting 3706 Locust Walk last spring for both our Alumni
Open House on April 25th and alumni weekend to celebrate the graduation class of 2024. It was
truly great for us to see you all and we appreciate it for making the time to come visit us in
Philadelphia.
We look forward to opening our doors to you all again on Saturday, November 16th for the
University of Pennsylvania’s Annual Homecoming Weekend.
Homecoming is always our favorite time of the year as it is an amazing opportunity to meet and
rekindle with past Brothers, but this year is especially important as Penn will be celebrating 175
years of Greek Life on campus. To celebrate, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life will be
hosting a celebration at Penn Park where all Greek Organizations and Alumni are invited to
tailgate the football game as Penn will face Harvard in a tightly contested matchup. Additionally,
the Brothers, maintaining tradition from past years, will all be together outside grilling on Locust
Walk.
With September quickly coming to a close, Homecoming will be here before we know it. Please
save the date to come visit us in Philadelphia to connect and meet the current Brothers.
Additionally, we are pleased to inform you all that Kappa Sigma achieved Silver Accreditation
from the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life for the 2023-2024 Academic Year, once again
maintaining our Good Standing with the University of Pennsylvania. This in itself is a testament
to the Brotherhood’s commitment to our Chapter, and we want to especially thank the former
leadership of Brothers Brandon Brodwater (CAS ‘24, GM), Jay Brown (WH ‘24, GP), Morgan
Zinn (CAS ‘24, GMC), and Marcus Murphy (CAS ‘24, GT) for helping us achieve this goal.
We want to thank you all for your unwavering commitment towards the Alpha Epsilon Chapter,
and to all who have donated to ensure that the state of our Chapter House is maintained year over
year. If you generously decide to donate, our Alumni Chair, Charlie Jarvis (CAS ‘26), has below
provided details as to how your donations would be of the utmost benefit to the Chapter.
We are excited to see you all on November 16th, and as always if you are in town, you are
always welcome to visit!
