History

The Kappa Sigma fraternity was established nationally at the University of Virginia in 1869. It has grown to be the largest fraternity in the world with over 250,000 living brothers at nearly 300 chapters in the United States and Canada. The Alpha-Epsilon chapter at the University of Pennsylvania was charted in 1892 and has been home to over 2,000 brothers since then. Having occupied its currently location since then, the first house had the address of 3704-06 Locust Walk. The current house, located at 3706 Locust Walk, first had construction begin in 1923. The brotherhood has remained at the same location since then.

Values

The Kappa Sigma fraternity holds the Four Pillars of Fellowship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service as its core values. Kappa Sigma brothers become involved in all aspects of campus life and become leaders in their communities. Alumni of the Kappa Sigma Alpha-Epsilon chapter include Olympians, CEOs, politicians, and other leaders all over the world. Brothers of the Kappa Sigma fraternity are deeply involved in philanthropy, and have given to various organizations working to help just causes.

Vision

The Kappa Sigma fraternity is committed to promoting academic achievement and aiding each member on his journey through college. Brothers of the Kappa Sigma fraternity foster an environment which promotes excellence in all parts of campus life, including leadership, athletics, and academics. Lifelong friendships are created through membership in the fraternity because entering the Brotherhood is a commitment for life. Therefore, strong alumni-undergraduate relationships are encouraged to keep this lifetime Brotherhood active for all brothers, even those who have graduated many years ago.
